I have a Meopta Opemus colour and was wondering about the sizes of the mixing chambers. Could, say, a 6x9 chamber be used for 35 mm with extended exposure?

I used 4x5 enlarger for 35mm all the time. Exposure is longer but that doesn't bother me. With a large mixing chamber the illumination of the center is very even.

Hi Martin,
I have a Meopta Opemus with Meograde head, and I use also always the 6x6 mixing chamber, whatever format I print, 6x6, 6x4.5 or 35 mm.
Hope this helps,
Regards,

Raphael

Yes, actually the illumination should be even more equal, with less falloffs or local inhomogeneities. The drawback, as you already guessed, are the longer exposure times, that can turn big enlargments difficult to do or not feasible at all.
