You know what. You win. I don't care to argue with you, because you're clearly of an opinion that I cannot respect.
Go on with your developing methods, and I'll go on with mine. Life is too good to argue about crap like this.

There's little doubt that nowadays companies and public bodies are obsessed with Health and Safety usually because of potential lawsuits. We've all smiled at the warnings not to drive or operate machinery on kids' medicines BUT for those who suffer severe allergies to things chemical in a darkroom it is a serious matter. Life is unfair and always has been.

It's not foolproof but both the deep slot processors like Nova and rotary processors like the Jobo give darkroom workers a fighting chance to work free of chemicals. Some processes like toning etc are another matter unfortunately.

You have my sympathy and I am sure that of all of the rest of us who can work unscathed in a darkroom. It's why we are all here on this site despite a bit of feigned hardness sometimes.

Hey Pentaxuser,

I like Pentax cameras too Just laid my hands on an old KX, and I love it.

All I have to do in the darkroom is wear a pair of latex gloves, and no problem. All I wanted to point out in this thread was that you may have to use a soft tip tong when picking Mitsubishi Gekko papers out of a chemical bath. I don't know how it got so infected.

Meanwhile Oriental has been doing a half-price sale on online for both RC and FB paper. But I don't know how well the company is doing.

When on Okinawa in the late 60s I used Mitsubishi Gekko graded paper. It was far better than the Kodak papers available there. I'm sorry to hear that it is being discontinued. Perhaps the resurgence of quality B&W printing will bring back a few of these classic products.

Even in stores, the retail prices for the Oriental paper are a little lower than other brands. I've got a 8x10" FB paper package this week, and I'm planning to test it this weekend.

Oh, I see. It is what they are usualy doing.
I saw Ori has backed to the shelves in Shinjuku Yodobashi after a couple of years' absence, I guess they are doing fine. so-so at least.

My latest purchase of B&W paper was a box of Gekko RC in semi-matt. I liked it. It's comparable with ILFORD pearl for my eyes, and much cheaper. I'll miss Gekko.
I wish Ori had VC-RPII in semi-matt.
