THE Miranda Auto Sensorex EE recently introduced by Allied Impex Corporation, 168 Glen Cove Road, Carle Place, N. Y. 11514, is an easy to‐handle fully automatic 35mm single lens reflex cam era that sets the aperture (f/opening) automatically after the user sets the shutter speed that will best suit the amount of action in the scene. Thus, as the action shifts from a blight area to a shaded area, the camera's metering system will auttmatically compensate by changing the aperture to match the light.

The camera actually in cludes a dual metering system—both spot and average metering for maximum con trol of contrast and exposure. The spot reading measures the light in the center of the picture only, indicated by a circle in the viewfinder. The average reading measures the light over the entire area of the viewfinder but puts less emphasis on the tipper half to allow for the fact that the sky is usually brighter than the subject.

One feature that is unique for a fully automatic 35mm single‐lens reflex camera is the easy interchangeability of viewfinders. By merely press ing a button on the back the user can lift off the eye‐ level pentapristn finder and revlace it with an optional waist‐level finder for low level shooting, or a critical focus finder for precision copying work. Since the CdS cell that controls the meter is on the instant‐return mirror, auto matic metering is retained with all of the finders. There are also six focusing screens available.

In addition to fully auto matic exposure control, the Auto Sensorex EE also per mits manual control of dia phragm and shutter speed, and the viewfinder has a red warning zone that shows a needle to indicate too much light (when a faster shutter speed is required) or too little light. Other features of this exceptionally versatile cam era include full aperture viewing with maximum bril liance, an ASA range of 25 to 1600, 11 shutter speeds to 1,000th of a second and a lens mount that can be adapt ed to accept a wide variety of lenses from other systems and manufacturers. The view finder shows the f/opening and tells whether the camera is set for spot or average meter readings.
