Greetings FM: N. CA

Hello I'm Sil in Sacramento, CA. I began this wonderful journey into photography in 1960 when I was eight. I was given a Brownie 120 and graduated to 35mm a few years later. I began to shoot MF in 1973 with a Rollei and then with a Hassy. After thirty some years with 35 film and then digital, I recently returned to MF with a Hassy and realized that I had connected with my first Love, Medium Format film.

There are many things I remember over the past forty plus years in photography however, there are many new techniques and methods I do not know or understand. I believe I have found a place to continue my education in this fabulous medium of communication. I look forward to learning, meeting, and sharing here, it's a COOL PLACE..

Ciao,

Sil

Good Evening Again, Sil,

Oops! Must be getting dislexic! I misread your call sign. W6 sounds a lot more logical.

Greetings All:
WOW! what a nice bunch of replies and welcomes. It's a real pleasure to find a Site where one finds warmth and friendship at the Door even before they have both feet past the threshold. Well, as I said in my opener, there are many new things to learn and this has always been a thirst I have lived with my entire life. I love to learn and the more Scientific it is, the better. Nothing in life is worth it if you don't have to try, make mistakes and learn along the way. "No Pain, No Gain". And, to answer your question Konical there are a few of us old timers left with the old calls. but even more surprising is the fact that Amateur Radio is growing and growing very fast according to the latest statistics from the FCC licensing division. If I were to change my call all my old buddies would not recognize me save my distinguishable FM Broadcast voice and the accent I have with the keyer on CW. And to Dave; "Gulf 7 Uniform Zebra November" FB OM nice to make your acquaintance. Haven't worked any Engel Terra G's in sometime. Next peak we will give you guys a shot on 6, 10 and 20 Meters and we may even go for a real stretch on Top Band at 1.815 CW. 73's. Again, thanks to all you nice folks. As soon as I get a scanner for MF and muster up the courage I will slip in a B & W post from time-to-time. I especially enjoy shooting the State Capital where I spend a great deal of time waiting for that special shot.

Ciao,

Sil
