Mint RF70 Scam?

Hi!

I found a Mint RF70 on Mercari that is pretty cheap. However, the seller can not answer any of my questions about why the camera is defective. Does the community agree with me that this is a scam? See below for my conversation and the posting. For context I fix cameras, and I’m not too worried that this one is defective, I’m more worried about the seller. The seller has 96 5 star reviews, so I’m not sure what to think about all of this.

I would purchase it to fix it, as I fix cameras.

This looks like the item that was sold on 10/10/2025 for $265 then, presumably, returned: it's the same photo. I'd be interested to know if the camera that went out in that box was the same one that was returned in that box: lots of things can happen with returns. You looked at the seller's eclectic selling history, right?

I'd sooner assume ignorance. In either case, it doesn't seem worth the hassle.

If the OP can repair cameras, it might be worth the hassle at this price. There is no battery necessary to unfold the camera, just push the button and it unfolds. DO NOT UNFOLD IT COMPLETELY! Re-folding it is a bit unusual and if you make a mistake, parts can break. But partly unfolded you can check the lens. Working, this is a wonderful camera. There is nothing similar by far.
