I've just started on my Minolta SRT journey. Over the last few weeks I've been building up an SRT-102 (== SRT-303 == SRT Super) kit. So far I've acquired a body, a lens, non-mercury batteries - Wein Cell MRB625 (the body came with a real Varta PX625 mercury battery!) and a printed user manual in good condition.

I haven't taken any photos yet, but the basic mechanicals seem to test out okay so far.

Very nice. They are wonderful cameras and you can do a lot with that 50mm lens...

Head over here: https://www.rokkorfiles.com/ and you can learn a lot about the camera series, its meter and general handling tips.

Amongst my fleet of Minoltas (11 at last count I think) I have 3 SRTs and two earlier SRs.

The SRTs include a 202, which I’ve used steadily for 25 years, a 102 purchased recently from John Titterington and my father’s 101, which he gave me recently after admitting that, at 80, he wasn’t likely to go back to shooting film.

The build quality of the 2xx series is not quite as high; some metal parts were replaced with plastic, but they’re still built like tanks. I like the plain microprism screen in the 101 but, overall, I prefer the 102 for having all my info in the viewfinder. In 25+ years I don’t think I’ve used the mirror lock-up more than three or four times.

I can’t comment much on my SR1s as both were bought very cheap and both have issues. I’m hoping a local repairman can make one working camera out of the two dodgy ones for me. What little shooting I did with the better of the two was nice. I like the small size.

Other Minolta bodies in the stable include XD-11s, XE-7s and an XK. In the past I’ve had an X-700 and an X-370 but we didn’t get along.

Out of a drawer full of Rokkor (and some aftermarket) glass, some favorites are the 35/1.8 MC, 58/1.4 MC, 50/1.7 MD and 100/2.5 MC. I’m also fond of some Tokina-made Soligor lenses from the early 70s in this mount.
