I am also a Minolta user X700 X370 in the MD line and two of the 9xi Maxxums.
That sr-m is gorgeous!
Thanks! Frankly it was very exciting to fire it up yesterday, after re-doing the interior body foam. Amazing how this Minolta stuff just goes and goes and goes.
Next I need to clean the interior gears as they tend to stick intermittently. Tap it lightly on a table and it finishes cycling. Needs a good interior cleaning.
Whole thing is built like a tank!
Yep, long time ago - Minolta and Yashica (Tomioka Optical Co. Ltd.) initially, then other joiners.
Got given an srt101 over a year ago and only now just cleaned it up enough to use it (prism was full of decayed foam) looks and handles almost mint now! Unfortunately 2 out of the 3 lenses have fungus and helical issues so that's a project for another day.

You can pick up used MC and MD lenses for a song now. I liked the f/2.8 21mm, 28mm, f1.4 58mm and the f/1.8 50mm lenses. The Vivitar Series 1 70mm to 205mm did not have have the contrast of the other lenses.
Nokton48: very nice lenses and cameras you have there.
My only Minolta MC lenses are a 58/1.2 and newly acquired but not yet used 35/1.8.
I find it hard to believe it.
You've got the MLU 21mm lens with viewfinder, I see. Nice to see that the finder fits on an SRT. How do you like the lens?
I have owned a pile of manual focus Minoltas and they have all been fine camera. The best feature: Minolta focusing screens are exceptional -- very bright with excellent microprisms.
I really do like the lens, mine is everything I would expect in terms of performance.
I also have the 21mm F2.8 MC Rokkor, but the 21mm F4 feels a lot like a rangefinder lens in operation.
Really I am glad I have both of them, but I would recommend the 21mm F4
Do you have any reason to believe the f/4.5 version is less of a lens?
