minolta shoe size

Sorry...cannot remember the exact name for the wireless Flash Triggers.
Is it YunGo.......something like that.?
They fit my Canon FD cameras just fine, but my Minolta XD and 202 do not want them. MAYBE it is just a tighter fit, but i really do not want to shove any harder than i am now.
Any of you guys have experience with this.?

The shoes are(should be) a standard size since the 30's.
The new AF Minoltas went to a male camera mount though.

Have you adjusted the locking screw fully out of contact with
the shoe when you put it on?

As above, all Minolta shoes for flash are the same - an agreed industry standard - until the advent of the 2nd generation of Autofocus cameras when they changed to Minolta's own unique design. (Heaven only knows why!)

Why? Because after Minolta bought Konica they did everything they could think of to screw up their camera sales. Ask my daughter who worked for them.

Sorry...user error.
It was not the locking screw, but the spring loaded pins on the device.
Maybe the Canons have a more gradual slope or something.?
Anyway, the last row of pins was not being pushed all the way up into the wireless unit, and that was prohibiting getting it the last 1mm into the shoe.
Afraid it was just a case of Beginner/Inexperience on my part. Did not see it until i put the camera upside-down, and took a look with a decent light.

Why? Because the hot shoe as we know it although now adopted by ISO it was invented to mount a small viewfinder and not a big heavy flash unit.

I have used a few Minolta cameras with various flash units and I have never found them to be 'heavy'. Top heavy perhaps but there has never been a problem with actual weight. The really large flashes such as the Metz ct 1 to 5 models were never mounted actually on the camera.

I have a NEX 7 and I hate the damned thing. I bought a couple of adapters that take it from the Minolta proprietary mount to ISO standard with a Canon TTL layout regarding contact pins. Unfortunately my Canon TTL flashes don't provide TTL exposure with it. No surprise there. I use the adapters now mostly for off-camera flash use.
