I have a Minolta Hi-Matic 9 that will not change focus when the focus ring is turned. It seems like more of an issue than adjusting the focus at infinity...however, I have never done that so maybe that’s the issue. But my issue seems larger than the camera not focusing to infinity; the focus never changes. Can anyone tell me how to check the focus ring gears (?) or where it attaches to the lens? Thanks in advance!

Ok, so I have narrowed down the issue but not sure of the solution. I took the top off the camera and watched what happened as I turned the focus ring. It looks like the linkage between the lens/focus is not coupled any longer with the viewfinder glass, but rather sitting static at the infinity position. I can easily move the glass and the rangefinder prism then shows an in focus picture. Can anyone explain how to fix this issue? I am not entirely sure how to get to the coupling.

Hi,
Haver you managed to solve this issue ?
Any idea where the linkage ättaches"and how to get there ?
I did come across a full "teardown"for a himatic but i was hping to avoid that.
If anything.....
