Lovely example of a Minolta 16 II subminiature spy camera. Developed in 1960, this amazing little (tiny) camera is equipped with the Rokkor 22mm f/2.8 (16) lens, ranked in the top 10 lenses ever fitted to a sub-miniature camera by the people at subclub (http://www.subclub.org/library/top10.htm). With fixed focus, a very pleasing minox-style push/pull film advance, and shutter speeds ranging from Bulb (B) to 1/500 of a second, this is the perfect camera for the aspiring secret agent or sub-mini enthusiast. Focuses up to 21 inches with included Close up Auxillary Lenses No. 1 and No. 2 (not shown).

The camera is in spectacular condition with practically no visible signs or wear and clean, inside and out. The film advance is buttery smooth, the lens looks clean and clear, aperture blades are clean and camera fires at all shutter speeds. The case does show some wear but the leather is still incredibly supple and it is completely structurally sounds.

16mm film needs to be loaded into the Minolta cassettes by the user. There is no pre-packaged film available anymore. If you are able to obtain the cassettes, it is a simple procedure. ---john.

100feet goes a long way. Typical 20 exposure roll is about 2 feet.

I have a few expired cartridges and fresh! double x to fill them with. I shoot with one now and then. I have to post some photos here of my efforts.
I actually have two of the little buggers and some accessories.

Some of my carts. have e-6 film from about 1971 in them. Don't think it's worth the effort to shoot and process (cost) it though.

If you buy 16mm film get single perforated film as the Minota 16 cameras were designed to use this rather than double perforated film. Although double perf will work in the II model but not later models. Buy only genuine Minota ones. Some years ago there was a guy selling homemade ones that were aweful. You can also slit 120 film for use and there are some unperforated 16 mm microfims.
