I was in Kathmandu in Smith St this morning and noticed that their mini tripods are on sale. These are not the really small ones you see for about $20 in camera shops, but a bit larger, with a maximum height of 1100mm, minimum of 350mm, tilting head with spirit level, quick release leg locks and rubber feet. They are listed as being 50% off the regular price of $44.90, which should be $22.45, but mine scanned as $17.96. I just thought for the price they could be pretty useful.

I spied them last year, thought they were too expensive. At that price though, quite reasonable.

I thought so too. Especially after using one of the really little mini tripods at Christmas for a family photo. One of the bigger ones would have been handy.
