Hello from down-under. My name is Mike and I'll be 50 shortly. I live in Brisbane, Australia. I've been photographer all my life ... in two stints.

The first stint was in former Yugoslavia where I grew up, the government put a lot of effort into youth development and photo club was one of the things we had for free, it had all the resources, equipment, darkroom, courses, literature, you name it - we had it. I really enjoyed the photography as a teenager, I did it all from loading the film to taking the photos off the drying line. But then you start growing up and discover other things in life ...

Fast forward a decade or so, I move to Australia with my gorgeous wife, have two kids and ... need a camera now to capture those young lives. I had some Olympus point and shoot film camera but early enough I switched to digital. My fist digital camera was some Fuji 0.8MP thing, I can't remember the name.

As the years went by I learned my trade, upgraded the equipment and was a 'pro' for some time, shooting events and fashion most of the time. My daily job was (is) a project manager 9-5, then from 6-11pm and all weekends was photography.

Well, I had enough and pulled the plug on it all as I didn't really have much of life left. Now I still shoot for fun, here and there, but have then decided to slow it down to the core. A few days ago I bought Canon F-1 and two A-1s (bargain found) and getting ready to load some film and take it easy.

I'm so glad to have found this community and that there are so many people still shooting film. It will probably take a little while before I shoot my couple of rolls of film, probably only B&W and digitise it to be able to share it here.

For those interested in my work, you can see my Flickr profile on Flickr.

So, hello once again and I'll be seeing you around here from now on.
