Together with my newly aquired Durst M70 was a focusing loupe "Microsight". It seems to work fine but I am a little confused about the hairline and adjustment that I can make to the eye piece. What are these for? Probably I am revealing that I only used really cheap lopues before...

Focus the eyepiece so the hairline is sharp. If you wear glasses and wish to focus without glasses, then focus the hairline without glasses, and you will be able to focus on the negative without glasses.
