Micro AF in NK mount.

I'm looking for such an item.My 55mm manual focus works great but I'm finding that close focusing has become difficult when using my N90s.
My budget is really tight and I don't expect to score a Nikkor.Wondering what other members are using for their micro work.
Might as well ask which non-Nikon wide angle AF glass folks are using.I couldn't possibly afford the real deal.

Nikon makes several types of viewfinder magnafiers. Or, the F3 with the 6x view finder, DW-4, which is really the best.

I don't find much use for AF in macro work, personally. Even when I had an AF camera and the 105mm AF Micro-Nikkor I focused manually. If you are having trouble viewing/focusing on critical details, look for a magnifier for the N90s viewfinder, as they can be found online for as little as US $25 or so depending on the model. Nikon made adapters to fit different eyepiece magnifiers to different cameras as well.

The 55mm Micro-Nikkor is a great lens by all accounts (I assume that's the 55mm you have). Later versions of the inexpensive manual focus 35mm f/2.8 Nikkor focus to about a foot if you need more field of view, and they work with extension rings just fine. Sigma makes several AF wide angle lenses (I had the 24mm f/1.8); these focus very close but they are no cheaper than Nikon's lenses.

I think Mike's looking for an AF lens without redeeming his 401k.
There was a 60/2.8 Micro Nikkor on the local craigslist this morning but it was $300.
The 28-105 Nikkor goes to about 1:2 in the macro mode. From what I've seen lately of zoom values it could be an option. FWIW it's a two touch lens & very nice.

Oh, yes, there are some zooms; I forgot! the 28-80mm AF Nikkor comes in a few versions, one of which focuses to 1.3 feet or so. I used this lens, it's actually pretty good. It's an inexpensive kit lens, so might be a good choice and not hard to find.
