MF Travel Camera idea sense / nonsense... or is it just GAS?

Looking at the developed rolls, I'd say I'm well on track to getting 13 shots per negative if I can be sure to handle the film advance / shutter without user error. Shooting the first shot right after the dark arrow ( "=>" ) seems to put the first shot ahead of Kodak's / Iflord's intention.
Ain't 'cause I'm trying to do this, but because I can't read the numbers. Will throw some Fuji film in next to see what happens. Thanks! And yes, I remember the backing paper thread, but didn't register what the ink was there for in the first place. It's possible if these cameras were designed today with the current inkset solution in mind, they might have used clear glass instead of deep red. I'm only using the window on the 1st shot ...because Certo's CLA has the film counter working fine.

Does anyone really find taking a MF and 35mm works on travel...

When I travel to locations where I will be shooting scenic landscapes, my personal favorite film cameras are:

Calumet CC-402 wide field/short monorail 4x5 inch view camera with Fujinon 90mm f/5.6 SWD #0 Shutter

Fuji GSW690 III 6x9cm rangefinder with fixed 65mm f/5.6 Fujinon lens

Contax G1 35mm rangefinder with 28mm f/2.8 Zeiss Biogon lens

The medium format and 35mm work well together for me.

Our annual trip to the Oregon coast is coming up quickly. My plan is to use either a Rolleicord III and Mamiyaflex C w/65mm lens only, or if my new to me Hasselblad 500c is working as it should ( test roll in camera now ), I'll take it and one of the TLRs. A tiny Olympus zoom--probably MJU140. And my XT1 w/23/2. And...a Instax Wide 300. And...Iphone 7+.

I've done this trip many times and each time I bring too many cameras. I think two MF and the tiny Oly zoom should be plenty. Let year I used a Fujifilm X100s and only took about 50 photos. Leaning towards leaving the XT1 home and use the iPhone for digital only.

be sure to handle the film advance / shutter without user error

you should bring a small paper clip with you and when you accidentally press the shutter release take out your paperclip and fire the shutter by the lever around the shutter’s body. this way you can take your 13 shots even if you make some error.
I told you the perkeo is too small for my taste, you should try an agfa isolette (6x6) or record (6x9), same quality, much less money, big numbers and effective engeneering.

bunip: Wow. You clearly don't mess around. Nice collection! Thanks also for the text comparison of weight. I think weight is a real issue... and is either handled easily or not. Much depends on the package. Take a Bronica SQ vs. a Rollei 6008 and for about the same weight, the Rollei is waaaay easier and more of a shooter's camera IMHO. So handling is as important as anything else and a difficult, almost intangible aspect to factor into the equation. Thanks!

if weight and bulk is an issued yourself a favor and check out the Mamiya6MF with three lenses;the 50,75 and 150;same format as the Hasselblad at similar quality for less weight and bulk.

bunip: Yes, but "too small for my taste" apparently wasn't specific enough to dissuade my inclination. Frankly, the only "too small" I've run into was my grandfather's minox. This works... for now, or until "better" comes along.

Ralph: E-v-e-n-t-u-a-l-l-y... I likely will. For now, my high quality MF is a Rollei 6008. Someday... it may shrink into a Mamiya 6 (RF with interchangeable lenses... not the SIX folder). Meantime,we're working with what we have.
