Has anyone here actually seen the tree called Methuselah? Does anyone know where it is located or is it a National Park protected secret place?

Yup it's secret. Last pics I saw were by Muench in the Feb '08 issue of Outdoor Photographer. I've been up there and had a great time but didn't see it. But if you study Muench's shots you can probably locate it.

I used to know a geologist who knew where it was, and he would take people up there and tell them that they could see it without letting them know exactly which one was Methuselah.

There is something magic about knowing that a living tree that old is out there, I don't need to see it and probably won't try, I would like to go to the park though. I also read in my search of a Norway Spruce in Sweden that's supposedly 8,000 years old. That's hard to imagine. I heard about the Methuselah tree on a Science Channel program about time last night.

From the Road Spotted Squirrel and Succulents. Santa Barbara, CA.

They are smarter than they look, a favorite of mine.

Keith you're right, it's on my have to go to place list. The photo's are terrific, the tree is otherworldly in its beauty.
