Hi,

When looking at Hasselblad systems, I was also considering the future, where I may want to mount a brass lens on it (I like the look). I know that SK Grimes has made adapters to do that in the past, so that part isn't a problem, but I was curious about metering.

The reason for choosing a 203FE over a 500 series would be to get the in-body metering...but I wanted to check that my logic isn't flawed.

Will the 203FE still meter without any connection to the lens (like a modern lens has)?

Yes. Though you need to have the lens stopped down to shooting aperture. There is a guy on Flickr who shoots with a 203FE and some old brass lenses. I'll see if I can find his photostream for you....
