A friend of mine just donated me this processor. It is in very good condition (and very big!), I would like to set it up but I can't find any info anywhere... Does anybody have a manual or some pointers where to find one?
Thanks!!

I do not know where to find a manual, but it looks a lot like my Beseler 16. I got a manual with the Beseler, but these things are simple to operate and you generally don’t need one. Couple of tips: always keep the tanks and roller modules super clean, never turn it on without water or chemicals in the tanks. Other than setting the temperature and speed there isn’t much to know.

By the way, it is Siegen, not Seigen. Siegen is a place and became part of a company's name just like Kreuznach in Schneider Kreuznach.

Meteor Siegen is long gone.

The address given above is a spin-off that makes part of another manufacturer.

The Meteoform 7040 is designed for process Cibachrome P30.

The guy that gave it to me used to do RA4 and BW with this machine, and unfortunately does not have the manual, and also unfortunately cannot help me out to set it up. I know it does P30, but I would also like to know stuff as: what are the six hoses used for? How much solution goes into the baths? Etc. before attempting to fill up the machine.

Filling up the tanks with plain water will show their volumes. And likely already the function of the tubes too.

Meteor Siegen products once were quite common here in commercial labs, but they hardly left a trace on the net.

If it’s like my Beseler, which was designed to do Ciba as well as RA4, it is a 4 bath unit and the tubes are for draining the tanks— although tanks 3 and 4 have an additional tube for a running water rinse which is not needed in RA4 processing. Tank capacity can simply be observed— when the rollers are all submerged you’re good. My Beseler has 2 knobs on the front. One controls temperature the other the roller speed. I use a stopwatch to set the speed while observing the paper travel through the developer tank. I let the temp settle for 20-30 minutes and check with a thermometer. It’s very stable.

Hi!

I'm now in the same situation than you 5 years ago. A friend gives me a Metoform 7040 from his father who was photographer. But I don't know anything about it. Did you got the manual or something useful? Thankyou!!
