Is there a dealer or distributor handleing Meopta in the U.S.? Do you know of any sources for used Meopta enlarger stuff besides the 'Bay? I'm looking for a negative holder to enlarge 127 negs on my Optimus 6x6.
Cheers!

In the UK, the people are:

Not too expensive to have a carrier sent across the pond - as far as I am aware, there is no glassless inserts for 4x4cm, you will need to use the 6x6 glass-type carrier (if it's like my Meopta Magnifax, the glasses will clip into the carrier in place of glassless masks).

David

Hi John,
can you report back to this thread letting us know what you end up getting ? I also own an Opemus 6 (you did mean Opemus rather than Optimus didn't you ?) and would be interested knowing what other acessories people are using.

FWIW, I have purchased a Fine Focus control knob for my Opemus which makes it easier to focus with (less overshoot).

regards
Peter

Oops! I do mean Opemus 6x6, sorry about that. Mine has a glassless carrier masked for 35mm, so I need to figure out something. There was an Opemus 4x4 model and I was wondering if the carrier would fit my 6x6.

You should find that the 35 mm mask can be removed and replaced by either another mask of a different size or 2 glasses (upper one anti-Newton type), which make the carrier into a universal carrier!

Thanks David! I got the 35mm masks out of the carrier. I'll have to go shopping for some glass next. WHat wouold you suggest for using as a mask for 4x4? Brass? Mat board?

Doesn't your carrier have built-in sliding masks to use with the carrier glasses? If not, and you are making masks to use in conjunction with the carrier glasses (to cut out flare at the edges of the negs), mat board, or anything else which is easy to cut, would be fine, including brass sheet if you can cut it while not spoiling its flatness!
