Up for sale Mentor Studio 13x18 cm ( about 5x7 inches ) camera + 2 sheet / plate holders + Tessar 300mm f4,5 lens + 1 extra wooden lens board + box of outdated 13x18 ORWO NP20 (iso 80 ) b&w negative film.
Mentor Studio 13x18 is german metal field camera ( the name "Studio" is quite misleading ). With it`s functionality it`s quite familar with Graflex cameras in my opinion. It`s all metal , solid as rock and still precise piece of mechinery.
My example has many signs of usage. It`s not pretty for sure, but the good news are it`s still functional and you can make with it nice pictures
Bellows in VG condition - soft and springy. Fully light tight even at full draw ( i made some macro test shots in full sun light - all fine )
Focusing knob works smooth and precise. All other knobs very good as well.
Camera has focal plane shutter on the rear. Fast speeds are: 1/30sec, 1/15 sec, 1/8 sec, flash sync (not tested ), B mode and T mode - all works great !
Slow speeds are off - all are working like a B setting.
Camera has: front: rise , swing , tilt & shift. Rear: micro swing, tilt and extension bellows ( like a Linhof Technica ). Also drop bed.
Ground glass orientation is changing by revolving mechanism - great feature !
Film / plate holders - there are two. One of them i was using with wet plate collodion process. Not much actually...about 30 plates and i moved to bigger format. Holder is still quite clean. This one has broken part of the handle of the darkslide , but it`s fully light tight and works great ( i will add broken part of a handle , you can glue it again if you wish ). Second holder also light tight , no damages. Has two metal inserts fot sheet film 13x18cm ).
Tessar Carl Zeiss Jena lens. 300mm FL f4.5. Lens is clean and very little use. No scratches , no fungus , no separation. Few specs inside. Has original front lens cap ( good for wet plate ), original flange. Attached to hand made wooden lens board.
Box of 13x18 Orwo NP20 sheet film BW negative. 25 sheets inside. Film is out dated but box is still factory sealed. Should works fine if you adjust your exposure and development. Treat it like an extra gift for a good start
1 extra wooden lens board with drilled hole.
