Have you seen it on e bay ends this evening...hung in there for less then 150 for a while this morning I got up this morning and it was over $1200.00.
Obviously others know what I suspected..this is a beauty- it appears that the front element extends beyond the filter threads...it must have some incredible coverage....does anyone know specs on this baby...I looked up the company and found a lot of laser equipment but couldn't find info on this product......all said, with the prices of the announced Fine Art lenses over 5K this one might be a sleeper? I'd go for it but have currently busted my budget with the cameras...am saving up to mix up a new batch of developer! Maybe Jim G. or the Professors, Dave & Sandy, have the scoop?

No specs, but I think that is the lens the Doug Busch sold for this cameras. There is a mention of it on his website:

Dead Link Removed

Go to bottom of the page. It is listed as a 480 lens.

I've heard you can make better pictures with the front glass off your wrist watch. I advise those foolish bidders to cancel cancel cancel whilst there's still time!! It only covers 20X24! Heck that's half frame 35mm, or movie camera frame.

You forgot to mention that since Mels Griot is a laser company, this lens probably has no correction for chromatic aberation!

Jim,

But would the wrist watch crystal cover 20 x 24?
Hmmm..........you may have caught me on that point. But you could always knock the bottom out of a coke bottle and take better photos than that Melles Griot. Actually, kidding aside, it's so far out of my price range that no one will have to worry about a supersnipe from tpahjim. Working on my taxes today and will likely have to sell all my ulf to pay Unc Sam in any case.

Perhaps, but I have enough liabilities without a French Company. :-'()

A steal at $2114.99, if you were considering one of the new Fine Art lenses at over 5k. I wonder what the total coverage is.

I got tired of finding no information so I wrote Doug Busch and here's a copy of his answers to my questions:

Me: I have a 610mm f12.5 W.F. 'de Golden Busch' lens mounted in a
black-face Ilex No. 5 shutter...
DB: Les Everson (rodenstock) and I
designed this lens. It is a new design and Bob Schwalberg from
"Popular Photography" (died) wrote it up as the most amazing piece
of glass made to date (15 years ago)
Me: What formula of lens is this? Dagor?
DB: our design
Me: Image circle or angle of view?
DB: don't remember but covers 20x24 with
tilts and swings at infinity
Me: How many were manufactured in the various sizes?
DB: no idea.

Does anyone on this forum happen to have the issue of Pop Photo that Doug is referring to?
