But I missed out on the picture! Waaaaaahhhhh!

Molli Said
Really? But I was trying so hard to look like a dork!
SMBooth replied.
Its OK Molli, I thought you looked like a dork...

Ummmm, Shane, you know that you looking in the mirror provided all the comparison for that opinion! :-D

Pete, speaking of totally UNdorky photos, I saw the portrait Mick did of you. You look incredibly distinguished and very sophisticated. Personal opinion: the beard suits you

Amazing how different that portrait looks compared to how I look in the flesh. Mick's a really good portraitist.

A pity the better half doesn't appreciate a beard!

I'm not going to argue with you about Mick's skill as a portraitist but I do have to say the camera records only what's there to be recorded which means the elegance and sophistication are all yours

I hope your other half has seen that photo... maybe she'll reconsider the beard!

Hi guys,
I've just done a test print of the group. Out of all the group the only one who looks like a dork is me. I'll do a proper print and post it on my flickr account.
Mike

OK Mike, I give up. What's your flickr ID? A search for wyno brings up 3: one has pictures of nothing but pit bulls, one has nothing, and the other is Maurizio who appears to be of mediterranean extraction (not that there's anything wrong with that - but it's just not you).

I think, if I remember correctly, that it's wyno 2. But it isn't up there yet. There's a bit more work to do to make it acceptable, and then I've got to scan the print. Unfortunately I won't be able to do any of that until next Tuesday. I also have to print the other shots I took on Saturday. Gary and I decided to shoot the Victoria Barracks when we got back to the car, and I think I got a good one of it. Fingers crossed. My first efforts with Efke 25.

Mike,

Post your FLICKR id in the thread when all is said and done.
You used Efke 25? God, that would give you a r...e...a...l... slow time value given the rather flat lighting. Victoria Barracks was quite a treat I reckon, with its Fort Knox appearance and walls covered in various coloured creeper. The lighting favoured my Provia 100F in the pinhole, and that goes in for processing later this week.

What a pity the meet-n-greet was so short, not even a group lunch, except those that wandered down to Southbank for some grub. Hmmm. Maybe next time — around June — I'll drag you all down into the Otways for a full day of poking about with cameras! Got to give those bits of machinery a solid work out, don't we!?

Mr Boots, what prey tell, is a 'dork'? Never heard of it.

I was very impressed by the Zero Image pinhole. I'm very tempted to get one.
Hope to develop my roll of Fomapan 100 tonight.

I have never ceased to be amazed by what a pinhole can achieve, with no viewfinder, no exposure whiz-bang and a very touchy-feely film load and wind-on — very impressed, but when it comes to beautiful piccies to put up on the wall, 'Brutus' delivers!

Well here's some of Christine's pics
Haha, they are funny. It seems we were a much better motif than the botanical gardens. Well done, Christine. I am puzzled, what is that bloke in the first picture doing there :surprised:

Great photos from saturday. I have developed my stuff, nothing earth shattering. But I do have two pics after many re-print due to dust. I can enter into the MCC print contest. There will be two analog pictures amongst the umpteen DIGITAL crap.

This W/end is Moomba is anyone planning on going to some of the events ? Over on Whirlpool there was talk also with the digital folks I know. Maybe we could get a cross group thing happening ? Say at the birdman rally if they are having or similar event ?

I just devved my roll of Ilford Delta 3200 (which I was finishing off from an indoor three-year-old birthday party). As per most, I took some shots of that funny sculpture (which my four year old just described as looking like a watermelon), and as per Scott's shots, nothing earth shattering.

What I will do, however, is put together a short video of the day. I think there's only a few minutes of footage, but probably enough. So, if anybody is interested, drop me a PM and I'll get a DVD to you (when it's edited, hopefully soon), on which I may even include a short video of an APUG day from back in 2006.

There is an old ships festival in Geelong this weekend, including a visit by the oldest sailing vessel still plying the waters, the Zephyr, made entirely of Tasmanian huon pine (!). The festival is being hosted by Royal Geelong Yacht Club. Plus clippers, schooners, lochs and replicas.

I've got an assortment of images but they are mostly cameras as I continue my deliberations as to the next one to get... oh, and a few humans, too...

Gary the sailing vessel visit sounds fun do you have any information where they will be birthed ?

I am hoping the weather man will be wrong this W/end. Rain & camera don't work well.

I am planning on the birdman rally probably will get to the area around 11 to scout out a good parking spot.

Yes I could be interested in the sailing ships as well.

A trip to Geelong is usually fun, more so if there is something like these ships which could turn out interesting.

Wooden Boat Festival, Geelong

Focal point (!), Royal Geelong Yacht Club.
Oldest vessel visiting is the 137-year old huon pine gaff cutter Zephyr.
Brigantine One and All is also coming, as is the Sayonara, more than a century old and still plying the waters.
All the boats begin arriving from around 9am Saturday, some coming from Melbourne.
NO charge for anything except munchines and drinks that as always, will be abundant.
Bring wet weather gear. Unfortunately the weather from Queensland is coming down here, though not in such a huge dump (about 20mm).
More info, visit the Royal Geelong Yacht Club website: www.rgyc.com.au

Howdy doody boys and girls, I've uploaded the (very rough) picture of all of us except Peter (Old Biker Pete) from Saturday. You will notice that Molli is casting very covetous glances at Marc's Wista. You all remember her comments about taking the Tachihara off my hands if I wanted.
You will notice that every one except me is sharp, and that Shane obviously really doesn't like having his picture taken.
Thanks to everyone for coming along and making it a good time and to Kevin for organising it.

Yeah well Marc has his hand firmly on his camera, smart move as covetous eyes were coming in from all directions through the gathering.

Am I shrinking, or is Joachim wearing "heels"?

Hello everybody.
I am very new in APUG forum (from to day) I am french and i am going to your country at the end of April. I hope to travel through Australia until June 2010.
project to go in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Alice Spring, Cairns, brisbane, Darwin. I practice analogical and numeric photos, but I prefer analogical. I have an Hasselblad 500CM , a Nikon F50 and when I travel lighter, a Minox. Pentax K10 in my numeric reflex.
I thought color will be better to shoot in Australia. To day, i think maybe i was wrong. Could you tell me what you think about my little problem. My choice of cameras will depend of your answers.
