Can we agree on a specific time to meet at "The Terrace"? How about 10:30am? Whoever wants, still can decide to come earlier to snap some shots in the morning light. Here is a map of the botancial gardens which shows the location of the cafe.

Also, I would be very interested to see some work of the members here. I will bring some of my 6x7 slides (unless it is too humid). Cameras are great to talk about but photographs are even better.

By the way, Kevin, where are you? It would be a shame to have a meeting without the initiator of this thread.

Finally, I have never been to the gardens. Is someone able to confirm that there are lots of blossoming flowers? In this case, I probably would bring my (there was a url link here which no longer exists) unless it is too windy on that day.

I am very much looking forward to the meeting.
Joachim

Hi again all. Glad there are so many interested in this. It looks like there are quite a range of desired times. I'd suggest let's let the really early birds meet whenever they want probably somewhere in the vicinity, and then the rest of us can meet at the cafe, let's say from around 9.30 until about 10.30 (that's to wait for you, Joachim), and then we can wander off somewhere. How does that sound? Can we please have a final confirmation of who will be there and when. By the way, thanks for the map, Joachim. I haven't checked it yet, but it should be a great help.

I'm going to drag Gary out of bed early and aim to get there between 10.00 and 10.30. You listening Gary? I should be round at your place by about 8.45 or 9.00.

I will be there before 10:30. Very civilized time.

I am hoping to have the spoils of the Freestyle order for Molli and Andy (Oxleyroad), although I see that Andy has some weak excuse not to be there (only joking Andy, I know the problem well). The order has gone in and the payment has gone through.

Thank you, Peter! You've just given me even more incentive to get over my nerves and be there on the day. If it's still okay with Mick, I'm heading up with him so whatever time it suits him is what time I'll be there, also

Cool Saturday 27 Feb 10:30 am Botanical gardens coffee shop. Now for the flowers I was there two saturdays ago. Lots of the flowers had been burnt up by the sun, but there was still lot's of bug action to capture.

Today I was on a outing with MCC & CCC to Como house. Seems the trust is putting some camera restrictions on, we could not get any more photographic permission except for the gardens. There was mention of a similar issue regarding the botanical gardens. Not sure where we would confirm this except by a park ranger stopping us on the day.

There are a couple of people who said early on that they'd be there but haven't been heard from since. Anyone else want to confirm their presence?

GraphCheck sequence camera? Now I'm interested in checking whatever that is, Toys for the Boys, eh!

Well I prefer to get there a little bit earlier than you lot, car parking is much easier and cheaper (hopefully) if you are early(ish).

Molli and I will meet most of you at the cafe, if we don't meet in the gardens somewhere first.

I'll bring a few 8x10" work prints along for show and tell as well.

Joachim, do you have a 6x6 loupe? That would be a wonderful way to see 6x6 trannies. Failing that a large magnifying glass.

Mick.

I even have a 6x7 loupe (3x) for my 6x7 slides  I will see if it still fits in my bag. I use the Kunze Journal archive system. Even without a loupe you can get a good impression. I am looking forward to see your prints.

I plan to be in the park early. I prefer the morning sun not the harsh crap 10 am or later gives. If someone would like to give me pointers dealing with the harsh sun I would welcome the help.

Polarising filter? Portable reflector? The zone system?

I, too will be there early (opening time) with my digital light meter :D.

Hi Nige. I thought you were a bit "big" for Little Aths, but there you go. We could well hang around for quite a while, so maybe you could get there later?

Hi, w9cae, I fully agree about the sun being crap later in the morning, but the general consensus for a meeting time was for later. I'm sure between us we can give you some help on metering.

By the way, it would be helpful if we knew the real names of some people with APUG names, as one could come across as a bit of a tool asking a complete stranger "are you w9cae?"

The name is Scott

Hopefully some others from the MCC printmakers group will come along ?

Yesterdays visit to Como house wasn't a total loss It has given me some hints to making my shots improve. I do have a simple light meter & some filters. Actually yesterday I was going use then forgot lol.

Probably will bring my Praktica with the electronic body that I used at Como. But I will change my film to something better like Agfa or Rollei, I was using Lucky yesterday.
