It looks like maybe January could be a good time for another Melbourne APUG get-together.
Graeme, are you over this way in early January?
Other Melbournians, Nige, David, when is a good time for you?
Maybe early January again?

I want to do it - early Jan is good, assuming we are coming over (95% certain).

I'm still finalising my times, but at the moment, I'll be arriving in Melbourne around 29/12/05, heading to Tassie on around 06/01/06 for 10 days, then a few more days in Melbourne before driving back to Kalgoorlie.

So, 31/12 or 1/1 would be good for me if the weekend is a prerequisite. 2nd, 3rd or 4th are fine too. Maybe the 14th or 15th (still very much up in the air that far out ....)

Others please post dates available.

Cheers,
Graeme

I'm quite jealous of your ten days in Tassie, even though I need to get back over there soon for work. If I do get there for work I wouldn't have ten days to play with.
Anyway, any of those possibilities would work for me. Pretty flexible around then.
Regards,
Kevin

Sounds good. I'll be out of town from 6/1 to 12/1. Other than that, I'm in anytime. And, oh yeah, I'm jealous of 10 days in Tassie too!

When are you proposing getting together Kevin? And where?

A short trip over from Adelaide could be on the cards.

Just a further thought -- would you guys consider meeting up at Halls Gap in the Grampians? It is about halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne.

Hi,

I'd be keen to be part of this too. I've been lurking round here too long without saying much. I've just trebled by LF knowledge (thanks to David's workshop which I attended 10 days ago). This'll give me more reason to get organised! A weekend in early January would be good since I'll be stuck in the city with work. The Grampians could be lovely if possibly a little crowded at that time of year.

John.

I'm pretty well booked up...

away
work
sons and wifes birthdays
work
nieces (twins) 1st brithday
work
away
and it's February...

I would like to meet some of you, but I'm in Germany until the 8th of January, start work on the 9th.

Mick.

I missed the last one so would love the chance this time around. Not sure about dates as I will be in Singapore for a week early in January and won't know dates for that trip till about mid-Dec.

Will keep my fingers crossed that schedules work out.

Glenn

Am I the only one??

Am I the only member of this list in Adelaide??

Does anyone in Australia know of any LF workers here in Adelaide that I could amke contact with??

Maybe I own the last remaining 5x4 in Adelaide?

Carol is in Adelaide, but her details say 35m.

Was in correspondence a few weeks back with a guy in Adelaide who was selling a LOT of lenses (I was after one for my Mam645, but he had some LF kit.)

I dunno, maybe you are the last LFer there...

How does it feel?

Go ULF and you and David in Melb can meet half way. Shoot the12 apostles maybe? Or is it 11 now?

Glenn, you know resistance is futile. You can't resist LF any more than you can resist the tug of an APUG gathering in Oz ...

The Grampians sound like a wonderful opportunity to meet and shoot. I haven't been there since my uni days when I studied geology. They'd be much more fun as a visual study than they were as a study of mapping.

However, as noted by jford, they could be quite crowded. Any other suggestions? I'm easy. Grampians is good.

(Edit: How about Mt Buffalo area? Closer to Sydney?)

Cheers,

FYI: Mt Buffalo was hit by some major wildfires a few years ago and hasn't totally recovered. There are still lots of areas where the trees are still dead.

wyno

Can a wyno from Geelong join in too? In twenty something years of using LF, I've only ever met two others who shoot LF while in the field. It'd be great to talk to others who use LF,
Mike

If it is the Grampians I'm in -- in fact I have deleted January from the start of next year just in case. If Halls Gap is too crowded, Stawell is not too far as a base for a comfortable day trip though the area.

Maybe we can have a couple of separate get-togethers, say one in or around the city (Melbourne) in early January, and then around mid-January another one in the Grampians? (Seeing there are a couple of people away after the first few days in January). How does that sound?

Haven't firmed up my diary yet, so two may be okay. I think I'd prefer just the one but a good one in the Grampians! We did the CBD last year (maybe David can wrangle that trip into the back country in the Upper Yarra?)

Cheers,

That might just be possible. I made an error on my time schedule and I am away the week of the 14th.

It's all coming together now - we are booked to go to Tassie on 6/01 and return 15/01, so those dates (inclusive) are out. I turn 40 on the 5th, so no driving anywhere for me that day (gotta drown those sorrows ....).

It now looks like it has to be the 1st or 2nd (assuming the weekend) if I'm going to be involved.

The location doesn't bother me much at all - Victoria is so small, I'd could go anywhere within it to spend time with my fellow Aussie APUGgers!

Cheers,

Hey, you get to join the old farts club, cool! I joined that club back in June this year. Luckily I still feel 14 most of the time...

The 2nd may work OK for me. Have to check with #1 stakeholder (a.k.a. wife) but could be OK for Grampians that time. Never been there so why not? Will start researching the place and how to get there.

Glenn

Wish I could join you in Melbourne but I'm really busy this time of year and don't have a LF or ULF and would no doubt find myself photographing the photographers instead of the landscape. :D

DH just turned 40 last weekend, must be the year for it!
