Just got back from 2 weeks on the Coast & Grampians,
Cheers Brian:cool:

Either day can work for me.

Will be there, work permitting. Are we meeting at the Cape Schanck lighthouse reserve?

/Frank

Me too

The Professor (Akif) is coming too...
We'll pop down to the Queenscliff-Sorrento Ferry around 8am. Always a good voyage (when the sea isn't chopping...).
Please confirm the actual meeting point e.g. Sorrento somewhere or the actual carpark at Cape Schank.

I am a definite for may 27th. I will have my two kids (6&4), but I will also have my brother to look after them

Looking forward to this one.

I'd like to say I'll be there, but I have a major household project on at the moment and I don't want to get offside with the project manager, so hopefully there'll be something later in the year. Enjoy the day.

Cheers, Peter.

Anyone got any ideas on a fallback option if the wind's up on the day?

"Gimme shelter!" Head for a decent coffee shop!

The lower, very exposed tidal area around Pulpit Rock is not the place to be with any sort of on-shore wind. Here and there along the boardwalk down to Pulpit Rock offers some rugged views across to the lighthouse which is a useful fallback for atmospheric shots in mono. If you want an example of conditions, head down to Bells Beach. If your camera/tripod gets battered by wind and salt spray on the relatively safe tideline there, expect worse at Cape Schank with nowhere to hide or shelter (and a very long trudge back) and the tideline is a medley of rock, sinkholes and platform — and menacing waves. I'm hoping for all of 8octa cover with breaks of sun in clouds. But going prepared for many scenarios — including getting very wet!!

This scheduled outing will be the inauguration for my mint/uncirculated Olympus XA which I purchased today on FleaBay ex-USA (where all good toys come from!!).
A love affair that started in 1980 with my first XA has again been rekindled...

We're still confirmed, despite the Professor muttering disapprovingly into his coffee that "there...doesn't appear to be much there?" Bollocks! (we compared extant images on Flickr of Pulpit Rock, which raised his enthusiasm a couple of nanonotches!). Just won't be going (he or me) in cold, wet, wintery conditions. Unpleasant would be understating it. Keep a check on the weather forecast.

I'm out, I better stay home and work on getting my new office up and painted/wired.

Mmmm. Yes, well...I need the stairs installed on the Doll House before His Eminence rocks up for the obligatory inspection. Besides which, "office"!? I thought it was a darkroom?
