I believe the current Oriental paper is contract coated on Harman Technology's machinery. If the factory closed in 2014, where was coming from the Oriental FB paper I bought until last year (i.e. 2020) from B&H?

No, as Mirko indicated, that factory closed around 2005:If the factory closed in 2014, where was coming from the Oriental FB paper I bought until last year (i.e. 2020) from B&H?
...The factory closed in the middel of the zero years i.ir.r. Thus I cannot help to compare.
Yup.I believe the current Oriental paper is contract coated on Harman Technology's machinery.

Sure it is.So, is it Oriental paper (as written on the box) or not?
It is great that you can coat it yourselves now. "slightly off parameters" , does that mean somewhat reduced high/low contrast rendition ? When do you think it will be available at Fotoimpex ? When it comes to making profit, I don't think a 10 - 20 % increase in price would be any problem as long as you keep the top quality that you have spoiled us with. Even more ?!? Well, let me take a deep breath first before I make the payment. Just go for it !!!!This is a motivating statement. Thank you.
We managed to produce a first sample roll in Switzerland before the current revision of the machine. It is slightly off parameters but fully usable for regular contrast negatives. This paper will be cut and released soon. However this only proves that we are technically capable of coating this paper- it does not mean we can do so with a profit @ current market prices for paper (yet).

Cost wise, definitely gotta make a profit! And I can't speak of all the MCC enthusiasts but I can say, for what it's worth, I didn't originally buy MCC for the value (say compared to a certain other paper manufacturer). I wanted to try it given what I read up on it. It did not disappoint!
If it has to be more expensive than say a certain other paper manufacturer, within reason, I wouldn't be bothered by it much. When you consider all the other items in the chain (toner, developer, film, etc.) and the time it takes to print on fiber, a more expensive paper isn't a deal breaker - how expensive is another question but I guess my point was the cost of the paper wasn't what caused me to fall in love with MCC.
Has anybody heard any news when mcc will be back and on the shelves?
I don't think that there is much to give an update about.
Also, didn't they mention somewhere (here, there or Instagram) that under current market conditions they couldn't price the paper high enough to not make it at a loss on their machine?
Cheap MCP/MCC is probably gone for good.
A question to Team ADOX / Mirko : How much would , for example, a box of 50 sheets 9,5 x 12 inch cost from the Fotoimpex store in Berlin in order to make the production profitable on an acceptable level ?
If the quality just can be maintained on the top level where the paper used to be ( there were a few quality dips ) , I am sure that many with me could accept a higher price, let be that we might have to take a somewhat deeper breath when making the payment. Let's hope for the resurrection.

Personally I would pay double for this paper compared to Foma, and a quite a bit more then ilford
