we are working hard to get MCC back into production in the mid term. But we cannot give a detailed timeline for it. Making statements of a detailed timeline would be dishonest...

I just broke open my last 100-sheet box of 8x10 MCC 110 stockpiled before the retail pipeline dried up. It never ceases to impress. Developed three minutes in Moersch SE6, then toned in KRST 1+10 for four minutes at 75 degrees F, nothing I've ever tried comes close.

Here in the U.S. at least, things are returning to some semblance of a post-COVID normal. How are you doing in Bad Sarrow? Have you been able to get back and forth to your coater in Marly? Last November your "News" page added an update indicating you were performing test runs in Bad Sarow. Is that where you intend to do production coating of MCC 110 going forward? Is any sort of timeline now possible to estimate when we might see MCC 110 again? Thanks in advance!

Great paper! I got to test it before it was released. It was the best paper to replace my beloved Polygrade V. Hope it comes back!

So there's a chance this might come back? This paper was amazing. I never had to do any filtering or anything, just work out the exposure times, and it gave me the most beautiful prints. It was almost too easy. Now I sorta struggle to make prints as good as those w/ lesser papers. It's sometimes possible, but it's work. About all you had to tend to w/ the Adox paper was to make sure it was flat in the easel! None of the other papers have given me the same look.

The pandemic has hit us very hard on the production side. E.g. the travel restrictions made regular operation of our Marly factory impossible. All these problems caused a delay of min. 12 months, more probably one of about 18 months. Therefore we unfortunately cannot give you any sort of timeline. It would be dishonest to give a timeline at the moment.

funny but the only time I used the paper all it gave me was grey photos. not until later did I actually realize it was a bogus box.
still waiting to try this but in the meantime quite content to use foma 131 which is great paper.

It's a lovely paper; but I prefer the toning effect of Ilford MGWT. My analogous predicament is being currently unable to obtain Fuji color printing paper made in the Netherlands. A couple days ago I visited my protege at the company where I worked before retirement. I had put in many lines of very high-end German tools and equipment, the biggest selection west of New England, in fact. At the moment, all these German manufacturers are shipping at least six months behind - not their fault. Blame the pandemic.

I look at Fotoimpex. Seems that almost all Adox photo paper is sold out. Is Adox coating anything in Germany or Switzerland? Is the plant in Berlin area coating film and paper?

Freestyle has nothing. What's going on?

You must have gotten some bad paper. Normally the whites are very bright, not like the old Agfa MCC 111 that was slightly warm.

Maybe but I judged from what I had, Oriental aspect was more my taste. Since Oriental lack of availability, I switched to Ilford FB. I have no regret.i

I want to try Lupex! I tried to get some earlier this year but DHL had other plans, so I'll wait for Freestyle to have it in stock I think. I think they're able to make Lupex since it's not a multi-grade emulsion? I recall reading here that the sequence will probably be Lupex, Polywarmtone, then MCC.

I'm super excited about PWT paper as well though yeah do wish we could see MCC sooner. Sounds like we're in for a bit of a wait there. In the interim, Ilford FB Classic is quite good and it'll tie me over since I have no choice But it is indeed not MCC. I will say though FB Classic does tone a bit better for me. When I can get my hands on MCC again, that's something I want to revisit (dev combos to see if I can get toning to lean less red).

Hoping one day we see both 310 and 110 as I'd like to compare the two. I suspect 310 might be good to use like I use Ilford MGV for. Everyday prints and working prints so I can figure out my times, grades, dodge/burn and then move to FB for final prints without having to make too many tweaks. For Ilford I have to make a few between MGV and FB but it's actually pretty close.

This is a motivating statement. Thank you.

We managed to produce a first sample roll in Switzerland before the current revision of the machine. It is slightly off parameters but fully usable for regular contrast negatives. This paper will be cut and released soon. However this only proves that we are technically capable of coating this paper- it does not mean we can do so with a profit @ current market prices for paper (yet).

Lupex is more expensive than MCC and thus possible to manufacture.

Cost wise, definitely gotta make a profit! And I can't speak of all the MCC enthusiasts but I can say, for what it's worth, I didn't originally buy MCC for the value (say compared to a certain other paper manufacturer). I wanted to try it given what I read up on it. It did not disappoint!

If it has to be more expensive than say a certain other paper manufacturer, within reason, I wouldn't be bothered by it much. When you consider all the other items in the chain (toner, developer, film, etc.) and the time it takes to print on fiber, a more expensive paper isn't a deal breaker - how expensive is another question but I guess my point was the cost of the paper wasn't what caused me to fall in love with MCC.

If the factory closed in 2014, where was coming from the Oriental FB paper I bought until last year (i.e. 2020) from B&H?
