Asunder, Photographs by Katie Koti

Transcending social boundaries surrounding gender, identity, sexuality and physical form, Katie’s photographs evoke a visceral connection between subject and landscape.

Anyone of us can deeply connect with Koti’s work. But while visually compelling and classic in its construct, the subject matter of the photographs is anything but traditional.

Katie draws you in to her large (30” x 40") photographs via a textured and earthy pallet, asking the viewer to take a step closer to look at the subtleties, acknowledge the desire, and then question the figures in the image. The images can call our assumptions about gender and sexuality into question.

Opening reception 5:30 - 9 Friday May 7, and there is an Artists Talk talk on Saturday, May 8 at 4:30 PM which is free and open to the public
