Hi,
I have been calibrating my darkroom exposure meter (RH Designs Zonemaster II) for Kentmere Fineprint VC and in the process found out that the (relative) maximum density of that paper was 1.46 (with fresh Agfa Neutol Liquid WA paper developer). Thsi seems quite low compared to for instance Ilford MG4 RC glossy wich comes to D-max 1.96 in the same developer.
Is this normal for Kentmere Fineprint VC?
Thanks for any ideas.

Finish, looks

Does it look nice? Not so bad I think, but it could use some depth in the blacks. The finish is Finegrain D.Wgt.

Neutol WA is a developer for warm tones, not for maximum blacks.

Hans, try Moersch SE6 Blue 1+10 @ 3:00 or Multigrade 1+9 @ 2:00 with Kentmere Fineprint and you wil get the max black as you like.

Harry, a soon as I order again at Moersch I'll give it a try. However, I could not find a "Multigrade" paper developer on their site.
Thanks for all te replies, Hans
