Masao Yamamoto went big

Those who know the work of Masao Yamamoto may be surprised by the fact that his latest work isn't miniature any more. For many years he was famous for exhibiting tiny silver-gelatin prints that were no bigger than 3x4', http://theagnosticprint.org/admin/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/1_Imy_install.jpg his latest work http://img-cdn.jg.jugem.jp/ada/1456933/20131130_1046071.jpg seems much bigger, infact the prints, still silver gelatin, are now 20x24 inches in size. It is a bit of a shock to me.

Thanks for the links - good reading on photographers I know, but don't really know much about. Hadn't heard of Yamamoto before.

Good to hear about Masao Yamaoto, one of my top 5 photographer. Yes, 20x24 in. is huge compared to his previous works, even if Kawa is already larger than usual. I would be interested to see the evolution which could justify such change of scale...

Guess he followed the market same format, framed always liked his mix of format sizes. Also looking at the images they are not up to his older work, they are not bad but I prefer his older stuff.
