Manual for Fujica GSW690

I just received a (used) Fujica GSW 690 and have searched Google high and low and cannot find a manual. There are plenty for GW690 II and III and other later models, but not for the GSW 690. If anyone has one, I would appreciate a link or PM.

On the other hand, there doesn't appear to be much to adjust on this camera. Basically, put in the film, adjust shutter speed and aperture, and press the shutter button. It seems to be very straightforward. It's one of the simplest cameras I've ever had.

Never-the-less... a manual would be interesting. Thanks in advance!

The Mark II manual should be fine - the I and II versions are very similar.

When you get the start mark aligned with the red dots, keep a light pressure on the wind lever so the film doesn't relax as you close the door. That's the only thing that ever caused me a problem with a GW/GSW camera. Oh, forgetting to take the lens cap off, but no manual can help with that kind of mistake....

Thanks for the quick replies. The version I have of the GSW690 is the one still branded 'Fujica' but, as you said, its very similar to the later Fuji GW/GSW690 II models. I did remember to focus, but discovered that it isn't that easy in low light with this camera. This is a return to rangefinder for me after 20 years so maybe I just need to get re accustomed to it. Anyway, thanks again for the tips!

The T mode setting is a bit weird on these cameras. If I recall right, you push the button to open the shutter, then when you want to close it, advance the film! I always put the lens cap on to end exposure, to reduce shake.

Thanks RattyMouse... these cameras are a bit strange. I haven't used T mode yet but will think of this when I do.
