I'm looking into purchasing a strobe ring flash and upon receiving my rental unit, I realized that manual focusing and operating left shutter cocking rings would be very difficult or almost impossible to operate. (Not to mention aperture rings on the far end of the lens.

I'm renting the Alien Bees ABR800 and looking to purchase a Godox AR400 with 35mm, Pentax 6x7, Bronica SQ-A, and Mamiya RZ67 mainly.

Anyone have used one of these types of ring flashes with manual gear?
