Ok, i did shoot today just few minutes ago with 90mm, i used an expired film, TMAX 400, expired on 09/2009, so will see if it is still good and if the camera is functioning perfectly or not, can't wait to see the results [nothing that is exciting for you].

Post your results. I'd like to see them. I just bought a pair of RB67's that should be showing up today with aluminum hard case, WLF, Metered Prism Finder, 2x converter, 2 120 backs, 1 220 back, 90mm F3.8 and 180mmF4.5. I can't wait to give them a once over and try them out!

Ok, the film exposed is in the fridge now and i am busy right now, in few hours i will start to process the film and see if the results are fine enough, but don't expect the images are of something interesting, it is just my house interior design but with 90mm it is so tight and later i will buy a wider lens, but hope the results you will find them as good enough for you to start with your kit.

Congrats in advance!!!

Another update: i saw a brand new Mamiya RB 65mm lens on ebay, stated as last one, and they reduced the price a bit, so even it was expensive i couldn't hold myself and pulled a trigger on that lens with some another items, yesterday or before yesterday [Saturday] when i used my 90mm for first time inside the house [interior] i still love wider lenses, i have 50mm RZ one, so wanted to have different FL so i can use that on RZ too if i want.

Now i feel i want to buy 1 or 2 last lenses and not sure what to get, a macro lens? TS? ... something else?

The 140 Macro is supposed to be great and the 150 SF is interesting. One of those two depending on if you want to do portraits of people or June Bugs.

I am done with wide because i ordered 65mm yesterday, so the only one left is the longer one.

I have 180mm on my RZ, and it is so great for portraits, so i feel either go with Macro as this is the only option i don't have on RB or RZ or even my Hasselblad 501CM, but i don't know if i should get Macro for RB so i can use it on RZ sometimes or better with RZ even i don't like RZ battery issue? RZ is giving me the easiest way to shoot with tripod, clocking the shutter, and dialing with the back and focusing screen, i tested RB few days ago for first time and it wasn't easy as RZ, so i may keep RZ in use with RB if not more.

Also i was thinking about tilt shift, but which one is better, getting a tilt/shift lens or a tilt shift adapter?

Wouldn't know. My tilt shift is called a Deardorf V8.

Do you have the zoom? And the big Tele? Also if you need macro, why not use extenders?

The 140 macro is optimized for flat field performance at close focus distances. Other lenses (e.g. the 90mm) also work well at close distances, and in fact allow even closer working distance without extenders, but don't offer the same flat field performance.

My "small" kit for the RB67 is the 65mm and the 140mm macro.

Oh no, not disputing the suitability of the lens, I thought the OP wanted to own the range of lenses, hence my response.

Yes, but i am not sure which range of lenses to go with, i may add zoom lens later, the prices became so affordable so that i can get more than 1 lens if necessary, but it became wanting more than needing.

Also that big tele you mentioned, which one?

I just had my first negs from my newest RB67 lens, the 250 C, developed and I think they're gorgeous. Maybe I got lucky with this particular lens but it's great - nicely sharp and contrasty.

Would like to see those, i just developed mine of the first time for 90mm, i can't tell if they are gorgeous or done properly or good enough, all what i can say is that i did shoot 2 subjects at different 3 exposures to see the tones or if i can see the difference, then the rest frames where just tests, a direct scan showing not that great result, but if i post process them before scan or even after scan they are just fine, the issue was that the scenes i was shooting are very DR, maybe 4-6 stops between the shadows and highlight and i am not sure if the strength of film is in that DR will be handy.

Well test 127mm another time, but i really would like to have that 65mm sooner because i shoot interior and open areas more than close-ups and portraits.

Here are 3 frames of that door+reflection, 3 different exposures [frames #2,3,4], i discarded first frame from the roll because i did cut the reflection shooting on landscape orientation, so those are the ones i chose.

These are a direct scan without any adjustments or whatever, i forgot to calculate the DR, but how much DR do you think in this shot and what to do in this situation with huge DR between shadow and highlight indoors? ND may not solve the problem because the highlight is in the center of the frame and i think i need that kind of center ND/GND filter than solid ND or GND partially.

And here the last 3 frames of the same roll, also direct scan and you can notice the shadows and highlight, i will try to recover the shadow and highlight to balance between both if possible, also i didn't apply contrast, but maybe it is a bit contrasty if tell the scanner to leave curves as default.

So, do you think that the camera is fine and the lens is good? And what about the film, it is expired and only stored in the fridge not the freezer?

I think if you don't recognize the quality of the glass you are using, you should take up macrame instead.

Nice detail.

Ah ok, thank you very much!

Sooner or later i will test 127mm, not sure which film i should use, 100ASA or 400? Kodak or Ilford or Fuji? B&W or color?

Ilford FP4 @ 100 using a Pyro staining developer. Prepare to be amazed at the tonality you get. For color, Kodak Ektar 100.
