I about have a M645 ready to shoot. I bought the body from Kumar. Lens from Roberts and found a mint waist level finder for a great price. Light seals is all that’s left before I take this out for a shoot. It’s been maybe 15 years since I last shot one of these and still really like the form factor. Not that this needs anything at the moment. Just curious who does repairs/cla’s on these cameras? What needed repairs with your camera and how long since the repair.

Other than light seals, very little needs to be done to these bodies unless they are entirely beat to death (in which case they should just be replaced). The shutters are electronically controlled, and of the several I have owned/used, I never had any problems other than the frame counter not advancing on one of them. That got fixed with a very tiny drop of naptha (lighter fluid) or two applied to that area of the mechanism.

I used mamiyarepair.com on a couple of lenses and was very satisfied with the professionalism and service. Bill was a great person to work with. I just gave him a call and we chatted about my situation and he took care of me.

Pay particular attention to the shiny metal film door latch. If you don't seal around that you'll get a line through all your pictures - that was what was wrong with my M645J when I received it from Roberts, and it took some troubleshooting. It might be worthwhile to apply a little black paint to that latch as well.

Unfortunately I have to return the camera. Very unfortunate since I spent so much money on a lens and the WLF. I did much testing and even fed it a fresh roll of film but the camera will need some sort of repair. I did talk to Bill at mamiyarepair and he quoted $400 for a full strip down to clean, lube, and fix the camera. I guess I’ll sell the parts I bought and move on.
