Mamiya HM401 back repair?

I have an HM401 film back for the Mamiya 645AFD II, and in the middle of shooting, it just stopped working. It completely locked-up and the LCD panel said "Err." Who would be the best person or facilty to repair it? I think KEH does repairs, but I don't have any experience with them. Will Mamiya/Phase/Leaf repair Mamiya film equipment anymore?

Try resetting the whole system by removing the batteries from both the camera and the back. If possible, take the back off the camera before putting the batteries back in. You should probably remove your film from the back at the same time. If that doesn't help, you could contact Capture Integration. They're a dealer of Mamiya & Phase One and they seem to do repairs. I bought my used AFDIII from them. If all fails, KEH currently has a few Dead Link Removed listed from $159.

Thanks! I will try contacting Capture. Do you have any experience with KEH? Are they "good" to deal with?

No repair experience with KEH. But I've bought a number of things from them over the years and that has always been a positive experience. About 1.5 years ago, I bought the Mamiya 645 AF 55mm lens with a sticky barrel as listed. When I removed the sticky rubber coating with rubbing alcohol, I noticed something rattling inside the lens. Even though I had changed the look of the lens a bit, they still gave me a full refund.

No, I don't think so. I think they're directing everyone now to Bob Watkins (Precision Camera Works) for film equipment repairs.
