Mamiya 7 II Flash

I posted this in medium format section but then realised it should probably be in range finders so here it is again

Can anyone tell me about the flash sync on this camera. Does it just fire the flash or is there some auto flash metering happening.

I own a Mamiya 6 and used the 7 on several occations in the past. There is flash sync at any speed, allowing creative uses of the flash and the ambient light, but no flash metering (to the best of my recollection).
