I should say that the reason I don't just pack the camera off to get repaired is the Kodachrome film I'd like to finish shooting before the deadline at the end of the year. The camera also doesn't seem to have any other issues, exhibiting good focus and exposure. I think I've found a workaround for now. When I finish the tenth frame, I can place the camera in my backpack (or other dark bag) and quickly open and close the back of the camera, resetting the film counter. Then, using the film re-winder that comes with the panoramic adapter, rewind the film exactly 5 turns to get back the film that will be advanced when the film counter moves from S to >>>1. I'll probably send it in to get looked at after the new year, but until then, if anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear them.
