Mamiya 6x8 Motorized Back Help

Hello,

I just purchased the Mamiya 6x8 motorized back for my RB67. I didn't come with a manual tho and I'm hoping someone out there is familiar with this back.

Looks like you load it like you would a standard back...Wind it to the start mark using the nob on top then hit the start button?

The Start and Multi lever I'm guessing is for double exposure?

What does the LT and T/M.UP switch do?

Inside the back I see a dial with a P on it. It looks like this is how you switch between 120 and 220, but I can't seem to get it to move and don't want to force it...

What about the LR and Ni-CD buttons and the BC light towards the bottom?

There might be a manual on the Mamiya America website. Worse case if nobody knows you can ask on the tech forum there.

Some of that stuff is straight forward. M. UP is likely mirror up. Ni-Cad is likely if you are using Nicad batteries. They have lower voltage.

After scouring the web it looks like there was once a PDF on the mamiya user forums, which as far as I can tell are no longer accessible.

Any chance someone has the pdf?

I have the RB 6X8 Power Back and the PDF. I sent you a private e-mail with the PDF.

When the power switch is turned on, the Start button advances the film to the first frame.

Multi lever prevents the film from advancing after depressing the shutter (yes, for multiple exposures.)

The selector knob is used according to the shutter speed:
Normal shutter speed from 1/8 to 1/400th sec is the white dot.
LT means Long Time as in shutter speed of 1/4 to 1 second.
T/M.UP is for use with shutter in T (Time), B (Bulb) or Mirror-up

To switch the pressure plate (120 220) you must depress the wheel causing the plate to move away from the back, then rotate the plate to the new position, and remove pressure from the turning knob to allow it to settle into the back. A window in the plate shows the film type to use.

LR is for Alkaline Manganese batteries and Ni-CD for Nickel Cadmium batteries (as pointed above). Press BC for a battery check after turning the power on.

Thanks for that. Surprised this kinda information isn't up as much now days. Seems them 6x8 and 6x7 Power drives are now almost as cheap as a standard 120 back on keh.com, I just got my 6x8 back for about 65$ over at keh in bargain condition ( which seems fine to me, I've always trusted bargain from them ).

Next up on the list, replace my old Prism with an Mamiya Prism 2 (the non-metered version of the AE prism 2).
