Hello all- looking to swap my user Mamiya 6MF kit for a nice 4x5 field camera.

Included is a 6MF body, 50 and 75mm lenses, and a body cap. The kit has been tirelessly reliable for me for years, bought it in its current condition from KEH. The top plate has a crack (pea sized hole, more fairly), covered by tape between the shutter release and cable release. It came to me like that (sans tape) from KEH, and instead of returning it, it won me over and kept on working great. Meter, advance lever, frame spacing, interlocks, self timer, etc all working fine. The 75 is extremely clean and solid mechanically. The 50 is good, but the rubber on the focus ring likes to slip sometimes (just a bit), and the focus travel isn't as smooth as the 75. Otherwise, both lenses are fantastic performers. Happy to do a video call to more accurately describe the camera..

Looking for ideally a Chamonix 45H-1, but open to other high-end 4x5 field cameras. Been using my Sinar Norma more and more and looking for something a little easier on the back to take into the field.

Also, if you would like to purchase the Mamiya outright, I'm open to offers. I realize due to the dubious nature of the body crack, the price is significantly impacted, so I'm not sure how to price this. Let's call it $2000 OBO on the optimistic side. Located in Chicago, IL.

I should stay away from photrio until this sells... Both of my 6MF bodies need a cla though which puts me down for a few months. PM inbound.

Ha. Good luck with your ailing bodies. I could recommend Bill Rogers @ mamiyarepair.com
No personal experience other than asking a few questions, receiving helpful answers and observing their thorough work through their instagram posts (@billrogerscamera).. but he (and his son, also Bill) seem to be top notch.

I can concur for prospective buyers that they are great cameras- a project I'm working on has just been moving firmly towards 6x7/4x5 and I'm tired of lugging the Sinar on miles long hikes.. That being said, this is a difficult one to let go.

Bob at Precision Camera in TX offers a rush service where you can have it back in a week for +30%. I did this as I didn’t want to wait 3-4 months.

I waited 16 months to get by MF back. In case folks were thinking of using PCW in the future, its good to have low expectations of timeliness.

I've heard recently of some issues w/ Precision's timeliness, even with providing estimates- even though they're the go-to Mamiya shop, and am sure they do top notch work, I had to bring up Bill due to him seeming perfectly competent/having factory tools etc.

I have heard of issues as well. When I called about having my two bodies CLAd they told me 3-4 months. I didn’t want to wait that long and opted for the rush service and am very happy with the work. Bob is the only one who works on my Mamiya 6 kit and I certainly recommend him.
