Hi all,

This afternoon I hit the shutter on my 645 and everything went black.

On inspection, it seems that the shutter curtain hasn't returned to it's position. It is about 7/8ths closed... but not all the way. Now when I hit the shutter, it clicks, but nothing moves.

The battery is pretty new, and the battery check light says the battery is fine.

Anyone got any ideas of what I could do to fix it?

Thanks!

A very helpful suggestion.

Can't hurt to ask the question in case it is something someone has experienced before, and has a suggestion on what to try.

Haven't done it with a Mamiya but on many 35's.
Carefully push it bac to the edge of the film gate and let it snap shut. I just use a fingernail on the bar but something small enough to push it back.
If it hangs up again, it is time for a little service.

Thanks John. I gave it a try, but still no good. Thanks anyway.

I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and find a good repairer in Sydney.
