Making a print from kodalith copy negative

I have a 15"x18" black and white transparency, looks like a negative but I'm told is a kodalith copy negative. I am trying to get a print made of it. The shop I took it to in Philadelphia tried to scan it but did so in sections which didn't line up and the reproduction didn't copy exactly anyway (I do have one print which came to me with the negative). The shop told me I had to get an offset printer to do it properly and it would be too expensive. I would appreciate any help in figuring out how to get prints made. Thanks.

welcome to APUG .

Contact print of the negative is what comes first in mind -I would try first on normal B&W paper, and later eventually on direct positive paper.
I am sure somebody close to your area from APUG who has darkroom will contact you and make a fair offer.

If the negative is a line shot with no intermediate gray tones, scanning in sections and accurately stitching the scans together should be easy enough for anyone experienced with such work. If it is a normal negative with a full range of grays it can still be done, but matching those grays at the borders between sections is more difficult with my Epson 700 scanner.
