Hello,

I need help with finding service for my Majestic Gear Head - Model 1005.
It has some play in the tilt axis controlled by the gear crank. It either has a worn gear, or needs cleaning and lubrication.
The crank turns freely and the head tilts forward and back relatively smoothly. The panning and leveling movements both lock as they should.

The Bencher website appears to be gone, so that avenue for service is no longer available.
Does anyone know of some camera repair shop or an individual that would service this Majestic Head?

Thanks,

Since your are in southern California I recommend Samy's Camera in Fairfax, Pasadena and Santa Barbara and Steve's Camera in Culver City. Both have competent and patient people who are more interesting in helping photographers than sell things.

I would think any competent machine shop could fix it fairly easy; It is a simple mechanism.

I'll check out both your suggestions.
It shouldn't be too difficult with with the right repair person opening the Majestic head up for service.

Fine tributes to important people!
