Has anyone got any experience with Maco's selenium toner. How does it compare to Kodak's. I have heard that the Maco toner does not turn blacks as purple as the kodak toner.

Anyone done a comparison?

ROLLEI SELENIA # RSE12

The LABOR PARTNER SELENIA, produced since 25 years in the same quality, his designation since 2006 reads: ROLLEI SELENIA # RSE12 "Made in Germany". SELENIA has been described in Tim Rudman's toning book. For all those who do selenium toning; or who are interested in toning, Tim Rudman's book "The Master Photographer's Toning Book, the Definitive Guide" is a wonderful resource. The characteristic of this selenium toner is the unusually high content of efficient substance (up to 50% more than usual in other prescriptions) in photographic purity usual for photo purposes. In Germany the Selenia became popular because photo papers with particularly high silver content, among other things ORIENTAL new Seagull G, in wide DEPTHS BLACKNESSES luckily N O T bends to effects, which are described in German as "cloud effects". The special distribution over all parts of the photo world began, when the effects admits, when photo papers, which are developed in the lithprinting process, afterwards treated with ROLLEI SELENIA, the color bending was up to "chocolate-brown" is particularly unusual impressing with the version of a selenium toner. The selling in the USA takes place via FREESTYLE in L.A.

I have used it and like any soltion you may need to play with concentrations to get the effect you like. Its fine stuff if you ask me and I would happily use either KRST or the maco; makes no difference to me.
