There is Lubitel 166 on the way to me, coming from Russia. It's the rare model with a frame counter, made for the Olympics in 1980. I have found instructions for all the other models, the 2, the 166B and the 166U, but none for this one. Has anyone the manual to share or could at least tell me where to align the film so that the frame counter works? Thanks a lot.

Thank you. I had seen that and I have asked them. The offer was 14 years ago and they only had a few. They don't even remember if they ever had a manual. When the old ones were sold they launched the 166+ edition, which is near to the 166U, without a frame counter.

Unfortunately the counter works, but the film advance stops after half a turn. This seems to be a common fault with this special series. I have tried to get around it. For the moment I have advanced, put the cap over the lens, released and then advanced again until the next number shows. I just put the film into a developping tank. Within the next 2 days I will have the results and report back.
