Bought an old broken Canon 2d for a few dollars, pulled it apart and got everything working again, then one of the curtains shredded, so I have some spare and in am in the midst of installing them, been following this guide. http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/leicashutter.pdf seems a bit of it is lost in translation (what the hell is a lath?), but its still helpful. honestly haven't sworn too much.
just a quick question before I get too carried away.
1. the tutorial has the large closing curtain going on first. When I took the old curtains off seems like it was the smaller curtain first and also seems easier that way, so I have fitted the small opening curtain. Just checking if thats ok before going too much further, can take it off again (god knows I have done so a dozen times already). so just checking.
2. Adjusting the tension springs. The shaft has a counter clockwise thread and a cog with a locking tooth, any one know the process of adjustment for this?
If any one knows a link to another tutorial that would be good.
Disclaimer.
No, I dont want to buy a book or study precision camera repairs, wont be quitting my day job.
Doesnt matter if I cant fix it as I have plenty of cameras other cameras that do work, but would be fun (in a masochistic sense), to get it working again.
Thanks.
