Hello there,

As far 35mm dedicated scanners go, I know of two places with a very good price option on a Nikon CoolScan 4000 and well the price is similar to a new 7600Ai.

Which should I go ? I shoot mainly Velvia/Provia and Rollei Retro / Tmax ..

I have been waiting for some images to come back from a forum member here so that I can assist even myself knowing the answer to this.

I have an LS-4000 and my feeling is that its the better unit.

certainly the LS-4000 has better film handling accessories (which cost) allowing you to scan whole rolls.

Continued support for the LS-4000 will mean you'll need to keep an OS like XP or win-2000 going as well as firewire.

I have a coolscan 4000 and just bought a plustek 7500i. the plustek in my opinion does a better job. However, through out the silverfast software and use vuescan if you want to stay sane.
