LPL universal neg carrier

howdy,

I was going to get the glassless 6x7 neg holder for my LPL7700, but have decided to get glass for the universal holder that I have (but has no glass).

I was planning on getting the Anti Newton top glass and the normal bottom glass. After reading a few threads here, I am not sure whether I need the bottom glass. For 6x7 negs, would this be overkill?

I've got glass top and bottom on mine (AN top, normal bottom), but I only go as big as 6x6. I'd suggest buying the normal glass and trying it out. It doesn't cost very much and especially so if you compare to the cost of the AN glass.

I don't think it would work without the bottom glass for the film to rest on.

I have the glass LPL 35mm carrier, and it only has glass on top, not sure if it would still work scaled up to 6x7 though.
