Silly question:

The negative carriers of the LPL 6700/7700 have two "pins".
I am wondering whether they were designed for pin registration masks?
What are they for?

I circled them in the attachment to show what I am talking about.

Thank you

Delphine

I assumed they were to guide where to put the negative, at least that's what I use them for for 120 film. Push the negative up against them and you get the right level of offset to line the printable area of the negative up with the aperture.

My Kaiser has similar pins which I use to help align the film.

The Kaiser uses it to control fore/aft location - so the film doesn't slip too far towards the hinge and you are left with the edge of the negative over the hole in the carrier.

If I push the film against the carrier pins I then only have to worry about getting the left/right film alignment.

Hope this helps

Doh ! I should have known any better.

I was hoping for something niftier.

Just to verify what's already been written, here's what the manual for my Philips PCS130 (made by LPL; the carrier looks identical to what you've posted) says:

Philips PCS130 manual said:
Position the negative with the help of the two adjustable film guide pins C, close the negative carrier and push into the enlarger as far as it will go.
