I came into a bunch of LPD and UFG developers in cans. How do they work, do they have a long shelf life while in the cans, and how is the developer longevity once mixed? Are the high film speeds as claimed by the UFG film developer's label accurate or should one strike a compromise between actual and claimed speeds?

Regards.

I can't say for sure about these particular devs, but the goods in the cans are supposed to last for a very long time indeed. I did once get ahold of an old can of Microdol (not X) and it worked just fine.

With the LPD, you can mix it up and test with a test strip during your normal printing routine.

UFG is a film dev and you can check it with a short test roll of film. I haven't used UFG in years, but I think the speeds claimed were accurate. Again, do a test roll and bracket.
