Pigeon river is easy to navigate, has great low lands and tons of 2-tracks throughout.

Sturgeon bay has a two track that takes along the shore to the big rock nuke plant. Lots of cool shore line with flagstone like rocks all along.

Petosky has some urban appeal for night shots.

A bit of drive but the Sleeping bear shore line has a few of old falling down barns and abandoned farmhouses and you get to go to Art's Tavern whilst you are in Glen Arbor

The shoreline behind the legs ins is good for those who like sunsets -- Ive seen some doosies there (of course it may have been enhanced a bit)

A couple of the guys made a trip out of Sleeping Bear and the dunes area last year. I fact, I think it was Marc and Mark O'Brien? It's doable. At least it should be put on the list of possible places for people to roam. The shoreline down from Legs is right in my neighborhood John. Hasn't changed a bit. Big Rock is gone though. Pretty involved dismantling, but I think it is done and gone. Ona clear day we used to see it from the bluffs near Goodhart. What a wild old plant that was!

Yep, Mark O'Brien and I went out to Sleeping Bear, the ghost forest, etc. Definitely doable. Had the place to ourselves.

We also hit the St. Ignace Car Show on a Sunday morning. This year 34th annual show is on the weekend of June 26th. http://www.stignace.com/st.-ignace-auto-show-411/ .

John's right about the abandoned farms. One in particular, with house, barn and other smaller buildings was uninhabited but in remarkably good shape. I have the location somewhere in my notes if we need it.

I think I know that farm. There is a huge petosky stone on the corner of either the farm or one of the buildings. Not far from there is a semi hidden access to Lk Michigan that Helen and I would go to when ever we were up their.

Here's a quick list of places in the immediate vicinity of Bill's place that I've enjoyed visiting:

Mackinaw Bridge (South and North shores)
Wilderness State Park
Shoreline by Cross Village
Good Hart Cemetary
O'Neal Lake
